I’m Liora. I write because I have to.
I’m a mother, a veteran, a woman who’s been gutted by betrayal and loss and still figured out how to stand back up. I’ve worked inside criminal justice systems, in federal security, and in the margins where no one wants to look. I’ve buried family, fought through collapse, and carried the kind of trauma you don’t shake off.
And I survived. Barely, some days — but survival gave me a pen and a fire that doesn’t go out. Now I’m learning to live…
My work spans different stages of healing. Some pieces came from inside the spin, others from after it. I keep them all because they trace the process—how clarity, chaos, and growth coexist in real time.
Why I write here
This is the flagship — the heart of it all.
Here, I turn lived experience into poems, reflections, and fragments of meaning. Some pieces are soaked in rage, some tender as a whisper, all of them cut straight to the bone.
I don’t write for algorithms or applause. I write to connect. To remind myself (and maybe you) that being alive, even in the wreckage, is worth it.
If you’ve ever lost everything, if you’ve ever felt invisible, if you’ve ever held onto something small — a cat in your arms, a single kind word from a stranger — just to keep going, you’ll find yourself here.
Why subscribe
Because resonance matters.
Free readers get full poems, snapshots, and monthly Connections posts — where I spotlight other writers and voices that lit me up that month.
But paid members step inside the fire:
Voice readings of select poems (the cadence matters).
Notes on what inspired the poem, how it affected me.
Exclusive access to new collections in the incubator, prior to publication.
Access to content surrounding published collections and, once exclusivity with Amazon ends: the collection itself!
Deeper reflections with context and sources, what helped me work through it —and actionable steps, in case you’re in a similar situation.
Behind-the-scenes process updates in the monthly Connections (voice, video, unvarnished truth).
Full access to the archive.
It’s not about gating content for the sake of it. It’s about protecting the vulnerable work, slowing it down so it isn’t chewed up and spit out by the scroll. And because this work matters.
Why me
Because I don’t write from theory. I don’t sugarcoat. I don’t pretend.
I’ve lived through enough collapse to know that words can be a lifeline… and that naming what most sidestep matters.
I’ll rage when rage is needed. I’ll hold stillness when tenderness is called for. I’ll show you the mess and the sacred, side by side.
Why stay
Because this isn’t mass consumption. It’s a fire circle. You’ll get warmth, clarity, and sometimes the sharp edge of truth. You’ll also get connection — to me, to the colony of cats that keep me tethered, and to the community of writers and readers I believe in enough to amplify every month.
