Wet nose on my cheek
Morning come at last
Time to waken
Rise to greet the day
Minutes sliding fast
Just a moment
To hold in this space
Precious ones draw near
Skritches for them
Kisses all around
Purring fills my ears
Blessed wee ones
They soothe my spirit
Show me that I’m loved
Leave my worries
For a while longer
All the hurt I’ve lugged
Doesn’t matter
In this sacred space
Focus on presence
Right now to bask
In their gentle warmth
Embrace this essence
No matter loss
Or wounds that haunt me
This I can’t forget
To move forward
Harness light and love
Cast aside regret
I greet the day’s
Possibilities
Reaching for the Sun
Happiness now
