Push
A reminder to keep going — even when you can’t see the path

Here’s a poem I originally published on Ghost back on May 25, 2025, then tucked at the bottom of my welcome post here on Substack.
It feels right to let it stand on its own now.
I wrote it in a moment where I had to remind myself to keep going.
Maybe you know that feeling, too.
Push
Being confident,
never a given.
Moment to moment—
depends on within.
Sometimes I feel tall,
able to stand out.
Others I’m just small—
wandering about.
Try to push myself
to be all I can,
not sit on a shelf—
and kill my lifespan.
I’ve lost so much time,
bent almost in two.
Now dropping my rhyme—
an empowering view.
Now when I cave in,
hiding there in fear,
I strive to wake up—
to know I’m still here.
Sometimes it’s daily—
needing this reset.
Try to live bravely—
erase my presets.
Whatever it takes,
my goal is to build—
on what my pain rakes
and tend this new field.
My hope is to help
all who have been there.
Help them trust in self—
show it’s safe to care.
If I can do this,
I think you can, too.
Life’s easy to miss—
you must choose to move.
Closing reflection:
If you’re in a hard stretch right now, I hope this one lands where it needs to.
Sometimes the best we can do is take one breath, one step, one push at a time.
If this speaks to you, take a quiet moment to ask yourself:
What’s something you’ve overcome that once felt impossible?
What helps you keep moving when everything feels uncertain?
What small act of courage might you give yourself credit for today?
You’re not alone in this. — Liora 💜
