Why is it so
Important to stand
And declare your presence
What if you sit
And mumble assent
Would it count toward your lessons
In life, the same
Are you robust and
Actively listening with both ears
Or rather are you
Mutely getting through
While grinding away at your gears
Does it serve you
To allow others to
Always do your thinking
Content to coast
Let things stay remote
Inside you’re steadily shrinking
If I challenge
Your lax position
And tell you that’s not good enough
Could you start to
Think for yourself, too
Or would you just call it a bluff
We can, no doubt,
Let this continue without
Fighting as hard as we can
Time to wake up
And see for yourself
What’s happening in our land
People are not
Your enemies
Simply for existing
A lie that’s told
By billionaires bold
High time you start resisting
Get the fuck up
And start to question
All this insanity today
Don’t hit the snooze
For I can promise you
It will be too fucking late
