Welcome to my first newsletter! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the warm weather. I've been creatively in the weeds...more on that in a bit.
Have you ever hit a wall metaphorically and then proceeded to keep trying to walk through it? Like it's going to magically change just for you?
Okay, maybe not, but it's a feature of my life at times. The funny thing is, I always try. Old dogs, new tricks and all that.
Short of it is, I've realized it and am now strafing toward the open doorway just off to the side.
So, what does this mean for you, for us, for Liora Writes?
I'm anchoring my life more intentionally around this work. The truth is I love writing. I really hope you find meaning in my work and that it resonates with you. I hope that it can help you on tough days and make you laugh on good days or even throw a well-earned side-eye!
Mostly, I wish for you to know: if you've ever felt any of these ways, you're absolutely not alone.
Okay, enough sappiness, time for some updates!
Tracks
I've been working to expand Tracks, the short story, into a much larger story. I know Smith and Melville both have a great deal more to say and do! I will keep you posted on this exciting development!
Pocket Unicorn
There's also a massive project in the works, Pocket Unicorn. This one is stretching me a bit: I'm learning to write, play, and compose music! I'm currently working on four songs for this project, but there may be more to come as I get closer to completion on them. Stay tuned!
Poetry
Of course, there will be more poetry...which brings me to the next item:
Into the Fire or....?
I've written a great deal of poetry and am debating on whether to release a book or to release multiple collections.
Your voice matters: I'd really like to know what you would rather see!
The current book concept is titled "Into the Fire". It spans poetry about the breakage we see around us, how it affects us, how we rage back, and the growth that happens when we finally stop being quiet. Or would you rather see multiple different collections that each have a unique core theme?
