Seeking others and accepting vulnerability

Just a note while finishing my coffee…

Still settling into this space, still figuring out the rhythm of it all.

But I’ve got so much to say.

Not in the “content machine” kind of way but in the I-can’t-keep-holding-all-of-this-in kind of way.

Sometimes I get tangled in a million threads of thought, only to realize:

I believe in the power of what I’m saying.

And maybe, just maybe, it can help others too.

Coffee is my god.

Squirrel-brain is my nemesis.

Writing helps me make sense of it all.

If you’re someone who thinks deeply, feels fiercely, and sometimes laughs mid-breakdown…

…then you’re not alone.

Neither am I, I think. At least, I hope not.

Connections

How do I reach
out toward others
from within this box?

Will they hear me
or even blink?
Do I have the chops?

Introverted,
inside, a storm—
I have much to say.

Writing’s easy,
sharing is hard—
so, I run away.

It hasn’t been
always like this—
pain, through time, piled on.

Burying me
under layers;
quieting my song.

Recently I
broke my surface
and started to talk.

The more I talked,
my volume grew—
hope became unlocked.

I have realized
how much it means
to reach out once more.

Something inside,
through this turmoil,
has begun to soar.

Please forgive me
being inept,
reaching out to you.

After so long
in this silence,
this all feels brand new.

I really hope
you can hear me—
that my words make sense.

Nothing makes me
happier than
dropping all pretense.

Truly I hope
you’ll stop and that
my words can lift you.

To make you think
and open up
to their raw truth too.
