Different Today

How strange it is

This feeling in my breast

Life is unfolding

Filled with so much zest

My future is calling

It’s on my caller ID

I’m taking this call

My response is carefree 

Details still forming 

Days not numbered yet

Just a matter of time

On this I will bet

Conscience says “don’t jinx it!”

But from deep down inside

Knowing in my blood

I’m walking wide-eyed

Now just a bit longer

For the drape to draw back

Deep breath before I leap

Life’s at last on track
